The Adventures of Captain Bobo
Everything was ship shape and Bristol fashion when youngsters heard about the adventures of Captain Bobo from his new book, at Cardwell Garden Centre.
They were treated to a special reading by the authors of the book, The Adventures of Captain Bobo – Bananas. And then they took part in a Captain Bobo-themed colouring-in session.
Written by Greenock author, Kay Hutchison and Glasgow-born Richard Dikstra, the book is jam-packed with comic tales of wise old sea dog, Captain Bobo, his trusty and ever-faithful Scottie dog, Salty on board the paddle steamer, Red Gauntlet.
The illustrated book is aimed at children four years and older and is inspired by the River Clyde and the captains and crews who sailed in paddle steamers and ferries throughout the years.
Cardwell’s retail general manager, Paul Carmichael said: “Everyone had a great time hearing about Captain Bobo’s adventures at sea and we didn’t even have to leave dry land.”
