British Heart Foundation Heartstart

 In News

We are proud to announce that we are one of the first garden centres in Scotland to receive British Heart Foundation Heartstart training.

Whilst we hope to never use the Emergency Life Support skills that the course provides we also recognise that the need to possess these skills. The course covers a range of Emergency Life Support skills including assessing an unconscious patient, using a defibrillator, performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), dealing with choking, dealing with serious bleeding and helping someone who may be having a heart attack.

Knowing what to do when someone has a cardiac arrest is important as having a knowledge of CPR can buy the time needed for professional help to arrive and save a life. Being able to do CPR more than doubles the chance of survival.
