THOUSANDS of visitors came to Cardwell Garden Centre from infinity and beyond for a weekend of fun and games and the chance to meet Buzz Lightyear.

Excited youngsters were delighted to get the chance to meet a Buzz Lightyear mascot during the centre’s Summer Buzz Garden Party held on Saturday and Sunday, July 27 and 28.

There was a real buzz about the place with a Toy Story-themed treasure hunt and a chance to win a special goody bag, face painting, bouncy castle, showground games like Hook the Duck, Feed the Clown and Hoopla along with an outdoor barbecue.

Cardwell’s retail general manager, Paul Carmichael: “It was one of our busiest ever weekend events and with the new Toy Story 4 movie in cinemas just now, it was obvious Buzz Lightyear is a really popular cartoon character with the kids.

“As soon as the Buzz Lightyear mascot landed at the garden centre, the youngsters swarmed round him giving him high fives and hugs. And when they pressed one of the red buttons on his spacesuit, Buzz gave them a dance routine.

“And he really impressed the youngsters with his version of The Floss!”
