CUSTOMERS at Cardwell Garden Centre dug deep to raise money to help create a garden at a Greenock care home.
The garden centre recently organised a weekend collection for Glenfield Care Home, in Bedford Street, which raised £338 towards a new sensory garden and a memorial garden.
Bosses at the centre, near Gourock also donated a barrel tub and plants for the garden.
The gardens were officially opened at the weekend and care home manager, Carol Chiverton said: “We’d like to thank Cardwell Garden Centre and everyone else in the local community who has helped raise the money to create these two gardens.
“The garden gives our residents somewhere pleasant to go for some fresh air and spending time there also has a calming influence.”
Paul Carmichael, Cardwell’s retail general manager said: “We’re been part of the community for many years and we always like to do what we can to help.
“The crew home staff have done a great job with their new gardens and I’m sure the residents will spend many happy hours there.”
