Bosses at Cardwell Garden Centre turned the place yellow for Ardgowan Hospice and then showed the colour of their money with a donation to the charity.
The garden centre near Gourock held a fun-filled Charity BBQ Party and encouraged visitors and staff to wear something yellow in support of the hospice’s Go Yellow for Ardgowan fundraising campaign.
Special guests at the event were two of the most famous yellow-coloured movie characters, Minions Stuart and Dave.
There were also fun games with prizes for kids and the grown-ups – Hoopla, Hook A Duck and Feed The Clown – along with face painting, bouncy castle and a Minion Treasure Hunt.
Now the £320 raised at the event has been handed over to Ardgowan Hospice.
Elaine McNeill, from Ardgowan Hospice said: “Everyone had a great time at Cardwell’s BBQ Party and with so much yellow on show the place was even more colourful than usual.
“We’d want to say a big ‘thank you’ to Cardwell for organising the event and donating the money to Ardgowan Hospice.”
Cardwell’s retail general manager, Paul Carmichael said: “We’re always looking at ways of helping out local charities and good causes and giving our visitors a bit of fun at the same time.”
