Pirate Pete’s Competition Winner

LITTLE Holly McDevitt reckons she had some extra special help when she won Pirate Pete’s Treasure Hunt at Cardwell Garden Centre.

Just before the four-year-old embarked on the hunt around the garden centre to find three Pirate flags and three treasure chests, Holly had her face painted like Rainbow Dash from My Little Pony and she reckons that’s what helped her win.
The Pirate Pete Treasure Hunt was just one of the many activities at Cardwell’s annual Family Fun BBQ Weekend.

As Holly, from Port Glasgow picked up her prize of a hamper of goodies from Pirate Pete, at Cardwell, her dad, Martyn, explained:
Just before the Treasure Hunt, Holly had her face painted like one of the My Little Pony characters, Rainbow Dash and she’s been telling people ever since that it was Rainbow Dash that gave her special powers to find the hidden treasure.”

Paul Carmichael, Cardwell’s retail manager said: “Well done to Holly – and Rainbow Dash – for winning our Pirate Pete Treasure Hunt.
“Just before he set sail out of Lunderston Bay, Pirate Pete was telling me how much he enjoyed seeing all the children taking part in his Treasure Hunt.
“And Pirate Pete’s promised that he’ll be back at Cardwell again and we’ve to tell the kids to listen out for him yelling ‘Ahoy there, me hearties!’ so they’ll know he’s arrived.
