CARDWELL Garden Centre made sure the Sir Gabriel Wood’s Mariners’ Home was all ship shape for Christmas.

The centre donated an eight-foot high real Christmas tree to the care home for men and women from all walks of life, in Greenock, so staff could decorate their entrance for the festive period.

Alison Laverty, administration manager at the care home said: “Having a real Christmas tree brings back a lot of good memories for the residents here and they just love the tree.

“We’re really grateful to Cardwell for donating the Christmas tree as we wouldn’t have been able to afford one like that.”

Paul Carmichael, Cardwell’s retail general manager said: “We hope we’ve done our wee bit to bring a bit of Christmas cheer to the residents at the Mariners’ Home.”
