Vacancy: Plant Department Assistant

We are looking to add support to our experienced plant area team in the hope to develop those with a real interest and experience in Horticulture. Previous garden centre experience would be a massive advantage.

2 Part-time Vacancies

21 hours contract working 3 days over 7, with an opportunity for full time hours during peak periods.

Salary meets; NLW/NMW

Key Skills:

Main Duties:

Customer service – deal with queries and maintain the garden centre’s ethos of looking after customers

You will be expected to assist in the day to day running of the plant department; this can involve lifting plants and preparing stock for orders on a daily basis.

Taking in deliveries of goods, checking stock, a full range of plant husbandry and plant maintenance (potting, weeding, pruning, and watering).

To assist with plant displays and merchandising outdoor area for retail sales

You will have a good work ethic with lots of common sense and the ability to work on your own or be part of a team.

You must be hardworking, adaptable, enthusiastic, reliable and have lots of common sense.

This role is physical and may require heavy lifting.
